Homeschool Days

SCM's Homeschool Days is a monthly program for homeschool students and their families. Homeschool Days provides homeschool students with a fun-filled learning experience full of educational programming and museum play!

During Homeschool Days, one all-ages class is offered exclusively to Homeschool Students during the Museum's open hours. Classes are appropriate for Grades Preschool-2 and may include science, art, music, cultural, and/or literacy classes.

Homeschool Days is offered the third Thursday of each month from 1 p.m.-2 p.m. Upcoming 2017 Homeschool Days are February 16, March 16, April 20, and May 18.

Because Homeschool Days is a special event, all children (ages 1+) pay admission to enter the Museum, regardless of whether they take classes. Admission includes the class and Museum play:

  • Non-Member adults and children: $5 per person
  • Member children ages 1+: $3 per child
  • Member adults and children under 1: Free

The Museum is a vendor with Horizons Charter Schools, Visions in Education, South Sutter Charter School, Summit Academy, and Pacific Charter Institute and its entities. Discount passes, including (but not limited to) passes issued by the Sacramento Children's Museum, the Sacramento Association of Museums, and the Discover & Go library program, are not valid for Homeschool Days.

Class Registration

Pre-registration is required to take classes and is on a first-come, first-served basis.

MARCH 16th CLASS: Simple Machines
