Space Week at SCM

January 21-27, 2018 is Space Week at the Museum! Explore outer space with hands-on space-themed programs all week long. Space Week special activities are included with Museum admission.

January 21-27: Space-Themed Art Activities

For one week only, the Art Studio will feature three space-themed stations: star slime, salad spinner "planet" art, and outer space chalk art.

January 24, 10-11AM: Story Time with Guest Full STEAM Academy

Full STEAM Academy will take over our Baby Bloomers Story Time with Dr. Seuss' "There's No Place Like Space," before moving to the Party Room for a solar system sticker activity. PLEASE NOTE: While the sticker activity is geared for the Baby Bloomers crowd, all ages are invited to participate. 

January 27, 11AM-1PM: Stomp Rockets with Guest Camp EDMO

Camp EDMO will help children discover the forces of push and pull as they create and launch a stomp rocket!

Sacramento Museum Day

February 3, 2018, 10AM - 4PM

The Sacramento Children's Museum is participating in the 20th Annual Sacramento Museum Day on Saturday, February 3rd! Admission to the Museum is FREE today!

We will open our doors at 10 a.m., and the last guests will be admitted at 4 p.m. This event is extremely popular - please expect an entrance line to visit the Museum. Guests will enter on a first-come, first-served basis. We will have outdoor activities to keep you busy!

Please join Sacramento Children's Museum for the fifth annual Inspire! Each spring, SCM honors an inspirational woman for the work she has done to make a positive impact on the lives of young children in the Sacramento area. The 2018 honoree is no exception. We are excited to announce that the 2018 Inspire! nominee is Kellie Randle, Director of Community Relations, Randle Communications. Her philanthropy is truly inspiring and we are looking forward to an incredible evening celebrating her work. This year's event includes our signature table-top design competition, dinner, a silent auction and a look inside the museum.
