What time is the museum open?
Sacramento Children’s Museum is open Tuesday – Friday from 10 am to 2 pm, and Saturday – Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. In addition, we offer member-only hours on open days from 9 am. to 10 am. Leo’s Learning Lab is open on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to close.
Where is the museum located?
The Museum is located at 2701 Prospect Park Drive #120 off of the HWY 50 in Rancho Cordova, California. Please note that Prospect Park Drive is a loop, so if you are coming from Sunrise Blvd., please take the second Prospect Park Drive on White Rock Road.
How much does it cost to enter the museum?
General Admission is $10.00 per person for everyone one (1) to fifty-nine (59) years old. Sixty (60) and over and members of the military are $8.00.

Does the museum have any free days?
Currently, the Museum participates in the Sacramento Area Museums’ (SAM) Free Museum Weekend, which typically takes place in March of each year. You can also check out museum passes from branches of the Sacramento Public Library or the Discover & Go program. SCM is also a part of Museums for All, a program where EBT cardholders receive $2 admission to the museum for up to 2 adults and 2 children at a time. Present your EBT card and matching ID at the front desk to take part in this program. Additionally, SCM offers discount days throughout the year. What is the age range for the museum?
Our museum and events are best for children ages 0 – 8.
Do you allow unaccompanied adults in the museum?
To create a safe environment for our all of our tiny visitors, we do not allow unaccompanied adults into the museum.
Is the museum a daycare facility?
No. Children must be accompanied by an adult guardian to enter the museum. Parents: To keep the museum a safe space, please participate with your child(ren) and only use technology such as phones, iPads, or computers only in the case of an emergency.
Why are all museum members named?
Every membership in the museum identifies not only the adult, but also the child listed on the account; therefore, each family member is named. If you choose to apply a mid-term upgrade of your family’s membership, no problem! The cost of the membership upgrade is the difference between each membership level. Please note: If you choose to upgrade your membership or add a caregiver to your account, the date of the membership does not change.
Why do adults have to pay to go into the museum?
As this is a family-friendly facility, we expect not only children to play, but the adults too!
