Currently, the Museum participates in the Sacramento Association of Museums' (SAM) Annual Museum Day, which typically takes place in February of each year. Every time you check it out, you receive 4 free admissions to SCM.

If your family would like to apply for a complimentary MAP (Museum Access Program) membership, which is provided to low-income and military families by SCM, please contact [email protected]

Do you allow unaccompanied adults in the Museum?

To create a safe environment for our all of our tiny visitors, we do not allow unaccompanied adults into the Museum. If you would like a tour of the Museum for a birthday, field trip, or general interest, please call 916-638-7225 to set up an accompanied tour with a Museum Staff member.

Is the Museum a daycare facility?

No. Children must be accompanied by an adult guardian to enter the Museum. Parents: To keep the Museum a safe space, please participate with your child(ren) and only use technology such as phones, iPads, or computers only in the case of an emergency.

Why are all Museum members named?

Every membership in the Museum identifies not only the adult, but also the child listed on the account; therefore, each family member is named. If you choose to apply a mid-term upgrade of your family's membership, no problem! The cost of the membership upgrade is the difference between each membership level. Please note: If you choose to upgrade your membership or add a caregiver to your account, the date of the membership does not change.

Why do adults have to pay to go into the Museum?

As this is a family-friendly facility, we expect not only children to play, but the adults too!

Why do the plugs in the Museum not have child-safe covers?

All of the plugs in the Museum are child-safe and are built to only work when a plug is inserted into it.
